  • The Drury High School Band was founded in 1923 by its first director James Morley Chambers 
  • Ever since its inception, members of the band and community have taken great pride in the band and its accomplishments. 
  • A long history of musical excellence begins in the elementary school and provides the foundation necessary to have a successful high school band.

Band Clinic 2009

 

On Sunday, March 22nd, members of the Drury High School Band had the opportunity to work with some of the best professional musicians and educators in the area.

 

 Through a generous grant by the Mary MacDonald Trust Fund students performed and were coached on music they are preparing for an upcoming concert and appearance at the M.I.C.C.A. Music Festival in Greenfield - a state-wide ensemble performance in April.

Clinicians for the afternoon included Bonnie Stults, flute; Heather Teed, clarinet; Steven Bodner, saxophone; Karen Atherton, trumpet; Tim Atherton, low brass; and percussionist Matthew Gold.

 

 

 
 

Lew Tabackin Visits Drury

World-Class Jazz Saxophonist Lew Tabackin visited Drury High School on March 5th to work with members of the Drury Jazz Combo. 

He offered suggestions for improvement and encouragement for future studies -
